Summer Craziness

My oh my! This summer has been a whirlwind and I still have two more months to go! Quick rundown:

June: Ali and Andrew's wedding, Tara and Nick's wedding, James visits up north with his family
July: babysitting Parekhs, Kauai trip with family
August: family camp, Christina and Kirk's wedding, Disneyland, girls weekend in SLO

It has been a busy but fun summer! I love having trips and people to look forward too!

Tyler (Sarah's baby) is almost 3 months now, he is smiling and learning to laugh! He is able to sleep through the night which is keeping Sarah very sane! I can't wait until he starts crawling and talking, life around our family is going to be so much more fun!

Since coming home I have been going to PBC, my home church. I was hesitant at first feeling like I was not learning much from the sermons and not able to connect through the worship. I have been feeling myself longing to be back at FBC for Celebration services! I miss the worship, I miss the community of people, I miss the sermons that I can connect too. Just two more months until I am back =)

Meet Tyler Adrian Cortez!! He was born last night, May 6th, 2011 at 10:05 pm. He was 9 pounds and 3 ounces. And 21 centimeters long! Quite a big fellow =) But he is alive and kicking!! What a blessing he is! I can't wait to go home next weekend to hold him and spend time with him. It will be fun once he gets older so that we can play together more and he will start to recognize me. Sarah ended up having a C-section last minute which is why it went over to May 6th instead of Cinco de Mayo, regardless, Sarah and Mario now have a beautiful baby boy!!

I am going to be an Aunt!

Cinco de Mayo is the big day!!

My sister Sarah and her boyfriend Mario will be introducing their little guy into the world tomorrow. She is getting induced because he is already ready to come out! They are naming him Tyler, more details to come...

But I am excited to be an aunt, for the first time! Sarah is my first sister to have a baby, so we are all very excited. I will get to go up to the bay next weekend to spend some time with her and the baby =) She is going to be a very awesome mother I think and know!

But this weekend I have my last round of CSET tests, a birthday party, and leading worship for Celebration on Sunday...what a blessing that is! I can't wait to see how the Lord uses us this week. Even if the numbers are low, we can still reach people in numerous and mighty ways.

YAY Cinco de Mayo and babies and worship; what an awesome weekend ahead of me =)

Love always

First day as a "blogger"

I never thought I would ever have my own blog...yet here I am. A lot has been on my mind lately and I find that when I type it out, it sounds a whole lot better than when I try to blurt it out in person or on paper. I am not sure what I am hoping to get out of this; maybe some new writing techniques or some followers. But mainly, I am trying to blog and journal more so that I can look back and reflect on where God was during a certain phase in my life. I think for all of us it is easy to say or think that God was not present in a difficult time in our lives. But a few years down the road when you look back, you can clearly see how He provided every step of the way; I think that is beautiful.

So, here we go! Day 1 of blogging! I hope I can keep this up, who knows how long, but won't it be fun five years down the road and suddenly realize I had one of these!

Here is a silly article I found about the "nice guys" that never seem to get the right girl:

I have found my nice guy, my boyfriend James. He has surpassed anything I could have ever asked for, so there is hope for all the ladies out there. Be patient, wait for God, and it will be good.

Love always
